Moonlit Acres–grant recipient for Westminster!

We are excited to announce our next partnership with the Kahlert Foundation!
Hey! Westminster had an opportunity to catch up with one of our previous grant recipients, Moonlit Acres Retreat Farm, Inc. During our visit, we discussed what they’ve been up to since receiving their initial HW Grant and their current project, The Moonlit Acres Garden Project.
In collaboration with The Kahlert Foundation, we had the amazing privilege of surprising Holly and Todd with a $5,000 grant dedicated to Moonlit Acres and their Garden Project!
As Holly would describe Moonlit Acres Garden Project and how it serves those in our community; “Moonlit Acres hosts several workshops a month to give opportunities to our growing number of guests—many of whom are referred to us by their transition team after graduating from the school system and are waiting for their adult services to start. This is a crucial time for young people to stay engaged in targeted programs, such as our gardening program. Doing so will help them retain the skills they learned in school to obtain gainful employment. Many of the skills achieved by gardening—following directions, responsibility, problem-solving, reasoning, self-discovery, and creativity- are necessary to lead more independent lives.” Help us congratulate Moonlit Acres for their dedication to serving the folks they work with and serving our community!
