Peace, Love, Dolls is a nonprofit committed to bringing smiles with toys. They collect donations of used toys, restore them, and donate them to children in need locally as well as across the globe. They got their start in 2017 with a humble donation of just thirty dolls to the Department of Health and Human Services and Safe House of Carroll County. Since then, they have expanded on a global scale sending donations to Ghana, Jamaica, and Honduras while also remaining dedicated to the local community here in Carroll County. On a local level they work with the Boys and Girls Club, ConnectandoUS, Sheperd’s Staff, and Live, Hope, Laugh.
Peace, Love, Dolls launched a diversity initiative to provide representation of all body types, ethnicities, physical abilities, interests, races, etc. to the children we donate to. With this grant, Makenna says, “The money from Hey Westminster will go towards purchasing diverse toys that contain an array of representation and would be suitable for many children of various ages and abilities.”
